We hand-pick the best scripts, choose the most exciting directors and find the finest emerging acting talent. Then we fuse the lot together and present it on a stage.
Our focus is on the writers.
We help them to develop their work in collaboration with the director and actors through the rehearsal process to ready their script for performance. We then gather written audience feedback during the night so that after the show, the writers may continue to improve and refine their piece.
The plays can take any form, from monologues to ensembles and can (and usually do) cover any topic; births, deaths, staying in, coming out, stealing shoes, giving advice, confiding in strangers, shouting at colleagues, inertia, time travel, broken hearts, disembodied hands – whatever the writer wants to say.
All we ask is that it’s never been performed before.
Our regular new writing night. Each event showcases five brilliant original scripts, all presented by a stand-up comedian. Take a look at our past Shorts nights.
In March 2013 we premiered our first full length production, Hot Dog at The Last Refuge to great acclaim and are keen to produce more full length shows in the future. Find out more about Hot Dog.
We are always keen to take on a new challenge and expand what we can do with new writing, from readings to collaborations with comedians to a festival of tiny plays; we love new writing in all its forms! Check out our other projects.
We’ve performed at venues all over London including Southwark Playhouse, The Union Theatre, LiT Space, Vault Festival in association with The Old Vic Tunnels, Rich Mix and The Last Refuge. And we’re always on the look out for a new place to call home!
See what’s coming up.
