SARAH KOSAR | Writer
Sarah wrote Hot Dog whilst on the Royal Court Young Writer’s Programme. Originally from America, her first play, Phyllis, was selected and published for The Cultural Conversations Festival, Pennsylvania. Now London-based, she has received readings at Arch 468, Jackson’s Theatre, the Lyric Hammersmith, I.N.C Space and the Soho Theatre as well as being featured in a showcase for the BBC’s International Playwriting Competition. Sarah is currently working with Theatre Centre and the Hampstead Theatre and is a member of The Royal Court Theatre Studio Writing Group.
FAYE MERRALLS | Director
Faye is currently studying for an MA in Shakespeare Studies at King’s College London and the Globe Theatre as well as working freelance as a director. Her directing credits include; Perfect Now (Festopia at Theatre 503), The Door (for 8fold Theatre at the Cockpit Theatre), Holding on to Helen (Rich Mix), Babies (Vault Festival at the Old Vic Tunnels), The Chair, and Five-One (Union Theatre) and as assistant director, Old Bomb Theatre Company’s Twelfth Night at The Nursery and Is there anything I could wear? (Theatre 503).
PENNY LISLE | Actor | Maryanne
Penny trained at ALRA where she was nominated for the student Laurence Olivier award. She is passionate about new writing and has worked extensively with Writers and Directors developing and performing new works for the Theatre, Film and Radio. Penny is also a founder member of The Flying Seagull Project, a unique circus style troupe who travel Romania delivering fantastical shows from ‘Rosie’ their gypsy style horse box! She will be re- joining the team later this year for their festival tour and Romanian residency.
TESSA HATTS | Actor | The Dog
Tessa has had a career stretching from street theatre to Shakespeare. Early work includes a pantomime at the prestigious Glasgow Citizens’ Theatre and playing Anybody’s in West Side Story at the Worthing Connaught. Favourite recent roles include playing Elsie in Dirty Dusting, The Wicked Queen in Snow White and Puck in Midsummer Night’s Dream. Previous roles at the Cambridge Shakespeare Festival include Lady Macbeth, Emilia in Othello and Queen Margaret in Richard lll. TV credits include the children’s programme Let’s Pretend for Central Television, playing Pippa the Postwoman in Meridian’s Wizadora and Miss Prentice in Sky Television’s DJ Kat.
REBECCA CRANKSHAW | Actor | Carol
Rebecca trained with the Actor’s Company at London Centre for Theatre Studies, and has also studied Meisner technique with The Impulse Company under Scott Williams. Rebecca has appeared as Bernarda Alba at The New Players, and premiered the roles of Danielle and Miss Mazzy in Nina and Shaz. In 2011/12, Rebecca toured the UK with Abi Bown’s new play Dayglo. Rebecca has a cameo role in the feature film Elevator Gods, currently in post-production, and has appeared in the BBC drama Doctors.
RYAN ANTHONY-JONES | Actor | Michael
Originally from Manchester, Ryan was bitten by the acting bug quite late on. After surviving a 7 year stint in the hotel industry and almost 3 years travelling around Australia and New Zealand, he enrolled on a performing arts access course in Plymouth which then led to a 3 year BA at East 15 Acting School. Theatre credits include: The Crucible: In History, Our Country’s Good, This Week Has Murdered Me, The Selfish Giant, Wolf Kisses, Tonight (Peacock Theatre, West End) and The Jests Of Skoggan. TV and Film credits include: Place Of Execution (ITV1), Days That Shook The World (BBC) and Farming.
NADIA NIELSON | Lighting Designer
Nadia trained at Middlesex University on the BA Honours Theatre Arts graduation in 2012. Most recent work includes; Coca Cola Future Flame (London Olympics), ASM and PR Treasure This (Bush Bazaar, Bush Theatre), SM and operator Crime and punishment (Upstairs at The Lord Stanley), LX Design Othello and Much ado about nothing (Etcetera Theatre), Performer Permission to Haunt (House of Fairytales), SM and Operator The Withered Arm (Riverside Studios), Operator Story Project 3 Ugly Sister Production (Southwark Playhouse), LX intern Snow White (The Broadway Theatre)
KEZIAH WARNER | Co-Producer/Literary Manager
Keziah studied English and Drama at Goldsmiths College. She works as Literary and Programming Assistant at The Last Refuge. She has been a script reader for the Cock Tavern, Rich Mix, the Soho Rep (New York) and Playmarket (Auckland). She is currently reading for The Space’s ScriptSpace programme. She is also a playwright and has had her work performed in the Edinburgh, London and Auckland Fringe.
STEPHANIE LODGE | Co-Producer/Casting Director
Stephanie is an actor/producer. She trained at Italia Conti on the 3 year BA in Acting and more recently at Stella Adler Studio, New York City. She is a founding member of Descent, and along with producing Descent’s regular new writing event Descent Shorts, she also recently helped to produce The Alchemist for Dunnico Theatre (Upstairs at the Gatehouse). Acting credits include: Prose and Cons (Union Theatre), Mrs Affleck (National Theatre), The Single Utamaro (Carriageworks, Leeds), Pinocchio (Colourhouse Theatre), Session One (Theatre 503), Airport (Broadway Barking).
